SIGPR Special Agent and Others Receive Award for Pandemic Fraud Investigation

On May 16, 2023, the Tampa Region Financial Crimes and Inspectors General Council honored the U.S. v. Daniel Tisone investigative team with a Special Achievement for COVID-19 Related Investigation Award.  SIGPR Senior Special Agent Rogelio De Sedas (far right) was part of the team that included the MFL USAO, FBI, IRS, and FRB OIG. Daniel Tisone was convicted in federal court and sentenced to 87 months’ incarceration. He was also ordered to forfeit the properties, engagement ring, ammunition, and cash seized from bank accounts, as well as ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $2,617,447.17, all traceable proceeds of the offenses.
